2015 Looking Back

Ok, we have come to the end of another year, this is two years for SolarCleaner Australia on the Gold Coast!

2015 brought me in contact with the "Latest" in Technology of Solar Cleaning, and I can confidently say that I am the First and Only Solar Cleaner on the Gold Coast to put this Technology to work with success on my customers Panels! #alphaecosolar

I also linked up with a Solar Electrician to help service my customers better, and compete with Electrical Companies that are cleaning Solar Panels as well.

Also I had the pleasure of linking up with some other Solar Panels Cleaners through out the State, and after Completion of meeting and talks, Have been able to help "Solar Gleam Gutter Clean" - Michael from Gatton, to be able to offer his customers the LATEST in Technology for Solar Cleaning!

So in Short in 2015 I have been able to acquire the BEST practice for maintaining your Solar on the Gold Coast, and able to keep my Same Price or some times even cheaper! Starting from $6 per Panel!

I have also through WEE PLUMB helped over 500 customers on the Gold Coast be able to have a HEALTHIER toilet experience though the installations of Electronic Bidet Seats.

I have learnt alot over the past year about different Brands and Fitting onto Different Toilets.
I have found that 99% of the time I can find a bidet to suite your Toilet Pan, if not I can offer a Solution!

Holidays

Again I have had the pleasure of having my two boys for the Christmas holidays. My eldest son is 16 and has his learners licence so he has been my limousine driver for the last week 😀 I also acquired my nephew for two weeks shoe and my youngest have been keeping each other company. It's great to be able to spend quality time with them all. 

Q & A Time 20/12/15

Q - How much do you actually gain by cleaning your Solar Panels?

A - The Results I am achieving on the Gold Coast over the last 2 years vary
       12 Monthly Cleans are gaining between 5-10% Improvement on Average over 12 Mths.
       6 Monthly Cleans have gained 20 - 28% improvement on Average over 12 Mths.
       Alpha Eco Solar Clean Program has results of  20 - 28% Improvement on Average over 12 Mths.

Q - What do you use to clean my Solar Panels?

A - A standard clean consists of cleaning your Panels with Demineralised Water through a filter system, and using a window brush to avoid scratching the Panels. Then a final wipe over with a Norwex Tile Mop, this helps to get that last little bit of dirt off. Then a wipe over with a microfiber cloth to get the dirt that runs to the bottom of the Panels during the process.
    - Alpha Eco Solar Clean and Application is the same three stages as a standard clean with an extra stage to apply the Alpha Eco Solar (Nano Coating) to not only keep your Panels clean for the 3 years time frame, But also an added protection to help the life of the Panels.

Q - How often should I get my Panels Cleaned?

A - In your Owners Manual provided by your Installer it should state that you need to maintain and clean your panels at least every 12 months, this is also a condition of warranty!

Q - Maintenance of Panels?

A - The Panels are secured to your roof with mechanical fixings, these come lose from the expansion and contraction by the heat! these need to be checked and tightened to avoid lose Panels.
   -  The Cables under your Panels are generally fixed with cable ties, these also break over time allowing your cables to lay on your roof, this causes deterioration of the cable by the sun and could also be a hazard on a metal roof.
   - Debris under your Panels is also a hazard and must be cleaned out.
   - Any Tree Branches that grow over, shading the panels need to be trimmed back.
All of these are done through my Cleaning Programs. - And I inspect your Roof and let you know if there are any problems!

Q - Do you need any special tickets/licenses to clean my Solar Panels?

A - I have a "Working at Heights" Ticket, and am also a License Roofing Plumber.
      If needed Extra Protecting will be used, such as an Approved Roofing Harness and Safety Lines.

What have I done this week? mmmmmmmm

Well, Guess I have proven that Rain does not wash your Panels a couple of times this week :)

Mount Tamborine, These were the worst case of Dirty Panels I have seen in 5 years!

I also have a couple of panels set up at home that i use so I can keep an eye on them, The one on the left is not Alpha Eco Solar Protected!

After a big night of Rain on Wednesday Night, the Bird Droppings were still left on the left Panel, but as you can see the Right (Alpha Eco Solar Protected Panel) is Clean :)

So for the last 5 years Solar Companies and Owners have been telling me that the "Rain" washes your Panels? I think some one should have informed the rain that it has to do this?
And if it did, then after me Cleaning Program why am i getting 20-28% better performance from owners systems?

Pensioner I talked to today in Runaway Bay, Gold Coast

Has his Solar Panels Cleaned about 4-5 Months ago for $180 (3Kw System), said they person took about 15 minutes? does this sound like the Job was done good? and the value is worth it?

$180 every 6months = $360 per year, if this was to give the results I am getting of 20%+
In this case the Client is on $0.50 per KW

The Average 3 Kw System will produce 12.6Kwh per day = 4599Kwh per Year!

20% increase = 919.8 Kwh per Year @ $0.50/Kw = $459.90 Extra per year! wouldn't this be great :)
But at a cost of $360? this is 78.28% of what you are predicted to gain?
This does not sound good to me, but let me know if i am wrong!

My Alpha Eco Solar Program, that Cleans and Protects the Panels for 3 years, and is getting 20-28% increase on Dirty Panels (not cleaning then Annually!)
works out for this same system to be $50 every 6 months ($300 total for the 3 year Program!)
so with a 20% increase = $459.90 per year @ $100 per year = 21.74% of what your are predicted to gain ( I am getting 28% for some customers!)

Which way would you go? - Should I be putting my Prices up to be able to match the others?

I have taken the last 2 years to find a more cost effective Cleaning Program for those with Solar Panels, and It confuses me at times why people are paying so much to maintain their Solar Systems/Panels.

Hello Gold Coast :)

What a week of some nice rain! well didn't help me with my Solar Cleaning, but was nice to get any way.

I do hope those that were effected by the storms are doing OK, getting close to Christmas, would not be a great thing to be dealing with, but i do hope the Insurance Companies look after you all (As they should!)

To all the Farming Families out west, I do hope this is a great Christmas Present, and will help you into the next year to get some Crops/Live Stock underway for a good year :)

As for myself, the rain this week means I now have a big weekend of sunshine and catch up Solar Cleaning to be done :) Bring on two days of sunshine!

Carrara Markets, Yesterday - Sunday 22/11/15

Had another great day, meeting great people from both the Stalls around me and people walking past. Still seems a lot of people out there do not realize the amount of money they are losing from their Solar Panels/Systems by not keeping them Cleaned and Maintained!

I even meet an Electrician that Installs Solar Panels/Systems, he advised me that their company does mention to their customers that they need to keep their Panels/Systems Cleaned to benefit the most from them! But the Company does not offer this service? I did have a chat to him, and gave him my details to pass onto his Boss! :)

I also meet a Lady at one of the Stalls, that was Selling Soap! but not just any ordinary Soap! but

After hearing the way they make these Soaps, I tell you Aussies have a way of coming up with great ideas at times!

Also was told that Dalby QLD, had no one that can clean and service the people with Solar Panels/Systems. So my next mission has been set, Challenge accepted :)

On another note, I did get to Sell my First Cold Water Bidet :) Elite-3 supplied by Bidets2go, saving this customer time and freight and also Paying for my Stall for the Sunday, and Next Sunday, so gives me a reson to go back to enjoy another Sunday at the Carrara Markets :)

CARRARA MARKETS LAST WEEKEND 7TH AND 8TH NOV 2015

I tried out a stall at the Carrara Markets last weekend, to get myself in front of you the public to help you understand the reasons to keep your Solar Panels Clean.

I was still surprised at how many people have Solar Panels and the reaction comments that i received, such as
- They clean them selves? don't they.
- I Clean my own!, then when i asked when they cleaned them last? Oh a couple of years ago!
- The Solar Installer told me i didn't need to clean them.
- They are Right.
- No body told me they needed to be cleaned.
- I'm only on a $0.06 Rebate.

If you have spent your hard earned money to install Solar onto you property. I would think you planned it to be a cost effective investment to help you save on your electricity bill? I could be wrong?

So if you invested a lot of money into this, why would you not want it to keep working to its maximum for you?

My Cleaning Prices are based on 10% or sometimes even less, than what you receive back each year. By having clean Panels you are getting 20 - 28% better performance than leaving them get dirty every year!

I have been Cleaning Solar Panels for my Customers over the last 5 years, in Both Dubbo NSW and Gold Coast/Brisbane QLD.

The Systems are usually around 3 years old when a customer must start to recognize a significant enough difference to their bill to start investigating about what they have to do to help their System!

I would have thought if you Invested so much money into a way to save you in further money on your electricity costs that you would have read through the Owners Manual or Investigated further online as we all do these days, to find out how you can keep your system working for you to it's maximum?

So if I was to buy a 5Kw System approx 3-4 years ago and got it installed and just left it there, as this is what most of us do! say it cost me $8-10,000?
At $0.52 per Kw Rebate, I would be expecting Approx $3930 Savings off my Electricity every year?
Taking a bit under 3 years to pay this off!
Loosing up to 30% off that $3930 after 12 months = $2751 now taking a bit "Over" 3 years to Pay the System Off!
Year 3 starts and we loose another 30% Off = $1925
All this because we Did not want to spend how much to Clean and Maintain your Systems Panels?

So if we Take First Year = $3930 minus Second Year $2751 = $1179 Difference
Second Year = $2751 minus Third Year = $1925 = $826  Difference

Cost to get your System Cleaned is Average $7.50 per Panel ( This average is based on SolarCleaner Aust Prices)
5Kw System Approx 21 - 27 Panels = Average of 24

24 Panels x $7.50 = $180 every 6 months to Maintain a minimal Loss off $3930 Every Year if any at all!

So If customer was to Get their System installed and set up a Clean and Maintanence Program through SolarCleaner Aust
I would estimate something like this?

Year 1 - Return of $1965 in 6 months then a cost to clean of $180 = $1785
Year 1 - Return of $1965 in 2nd 6 months then a cost to clean of $180 = $1785
Year 2 -  Return of $1965 in 6 months then a cost to clean of $180 = $1785
Year 2 -  Return of $1965 in 2nd 6 months then a cost to clean of $180 = $1785
Year 3 -  Return of $1965 in 6 months then a cost to clean of $180 = $1785
Year 3 -  Return of $1965 in 2nd 6 months then a cost to clean of $180 = $1785

$10710 in Electricity Rebates - $1080 Maintenance Program = $9630

No Maintenance Program  Approx $8606 Back in Rebates over 3 years?? is it worth it?
